Xupiter
Overview
This browser hijacker is an Internet Explorer toolbar that has links to one of Xupiter’s search engines. A task run at Windows startup downloads updates to this browser hijacker and may launch pop-ups. It hijacks Internet Explorer’s home page and address bar searches and adds Xupiter links to bookmarks.
Xupiter is likely to slow performance of Internet Explorer.
It is installed by ActiveX drive-by-download in Xupiter’s affiliate pages. It may be installed by pop-up advertisements on sites such as FortuneCity and cjb.net subdomains. It may also be bundled with Grokster.
Distribution has included SPAM offering a ‘Free Christian Toolbar’ and SPAM offering a program portrayed as capable of disabling Windows Messenger service pop-ups.
How to Remove Xupiter?
