New approaches to malware detection coming into view
The traditional signature-based method to detect viruses and other malware is increasingly seen as an insufficient defense given the rapid pace at which attackers are churning out virus and spyware variants. All of which raises the question: What’s next?
The new approach now is towards “white-listing” technology that only allows certain applications to run on your computer. This will stop malwares from executing and it will just be in a frozen state. Another possible technology is “behavior-based blocking” which stops the spyware, adware, trojans or worms to do its job based on its program behavior.
