2 Steps to Vista User Account Control Hack

A Web application developer has uncovered a two-step process for exploiting Windows Vista’s User Account Control, essentially by having a Trojan piggyback on what could be a legitimate download.

It is no surprise that the Microsoft’s new OS - Vista - is “hackable”. What can you expect for an OS that is historically laden with all kinds of vulnerabilities. It could be in the architecture itself, no matter what is the name or the gui is, it is still the painful Windows. I just bought a new PC recently, it has Vista. I’m very disappointed, it just improves on the user interface but it still the same - it hangs on me, and my IE suddenly stops. Even though it offers a solution automatically via a download of a display driver, guess what - the downloaded software did not work and saying it is not compatible. What a waste of time. It is always a joke to ever believe that Microsoft Windows improves its security or stability.

I failed the challenge question… your captcha has some hardcore math, man! Anyways, on the topic… it sucks that you’re having problems with Vista, hope you get everything figured out.

Sorry about that math :) I got the Vista problem solved, actually it was a problem on IE add-ons (Alexa). I removed it and it got faster and did not hang anymore. Strange thing is that I have Alexa on my IE7 on another PC (Win XP) and it never hang like it did in Vista.
